  1. To the chicken add curd, 2 chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, salt(which would be enough for just the chicken), biriyani masala, curry leaves, mint leaves and coriander leaves. Mix it well and let it soak for a couple of hours.
  2. Meanwhile, heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pot, add the cumin seeds, cardamom, bay leaves, cinnamon to it. Cover the lid. Along the edge of the lid, use the the dough to seal it. Over low flame let it sit for half an hour.
  5. Chop the remaining 2 onions. In a pan heat 1/2 tbsp ghee and brown the onions with a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar.
  6. Lastly, when you uncover the biriyani, sprinkle the browned onions over it and serve it with curd or raita.
